If there’s one word that’s associated with the Persona series, it’s stylish. A big part of that is thanks to character designer Shigenori Soejima and his esteemed art team. With Catherine: Fully Body and Persona 5 Royal on the horizon, Atlus celebrated the upcoming titles and their gorgeous designs in style, holding an art exhibit at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, CA. The showcase featured a plethora of art for both games, from fan tributes to rare and specially-created prints by Soejima. Long lines of passionate fans formed for their chance to see the exhibit, meet Soejima, and grab the rare merchandise for sale. We were lucky enough to attend the event, and now we’re giving you an inside view to see the cool art and celebration up close.
The gallery below features the Persona 5 section. See early concept art, new characters for Royal, and some rare cast designs. Soejima even came down at one point to draw a Morgana on the chalkboard for everyone. That wasn’t the only surprise, though; at Soejima’s panel, a new Persona 5 Royal trailer revealed a spring 2020 release window.
