After denying his character Ash Williams (from the Evil Dead films) would appear as a DLC character in Mortal Kombat 11, actor Bruce Campbell has tweeted something that might indicate otherwise.
When Mortal Kombat 11 released on Switch, clever dataminers were able to find the names of five potential DLC characters from its own universe: Shang Tsung (who’d already been announced), Nightwolf, Sindel, Fujin, Sheeva. The leak also included four guest characters: Todd McFarlane’s Spawn character, Joker (of DC Comics fame), The Terminator, and Ash. Around that time, Campbell (who’s portrayed Ash for years), denied he was in the game.

Yesterday, however, the first trailer showcasing Shang Tsung dropped, and beyond highlighting the sorcerer, it revealed the characters for Mortal Kombat 11’s first “Kombat Pack” DLC – Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Sindel, and Spawn, giving credence to the datamine. Furthermore, you can hear the rev of a chainsaw when the trailer mentions there will be two more guest characters in the pack – which could be a reference to Ash, who gets a chainsaw arm in Army of Darkness.
Campbell himself then tweeted about the trailer.
Boy, looks like a swell game – I’ll have to check it out! https://t.co/y5b7e2zr91

While the tweet is by itself fairly innocuous, considering all the details above it’s hard not to see this as a hint at Ash’s (and Campbell’s) appearance in the game, despite Campbell’s previous denial. We’ll find out soon enough.
