There’s a lot of discussion about the health of E3 after this year’s show, but one thing most people agree on is that the games that were there generally impressed. After the show concluded, a number of outlets, including Game Informer, submitted ballots of their favorite games from the show in different categories like Best Original Game or Best RPG. The caveat is that each game has to be shown playable for most of the awards, but some awards for graphics and sound can be for anything. The votes are tallied by the Games Critics Awards and released as the awards we got today.

You can find the full list below, but Final Fantasy VII Remake is the big winner, pulling in Game of the Show and two other awards.

I’m admittedly a little confused by Luigi’s Mansion’s categorization as the best Family/Social game, though looking at past winners (Overcooked, Hidden Agenda which is straight up about a serial killer, Skylanders), I don’t think anyone really knows what that category is supposed to be. Still, it’s a good list of games overall, especially as someone who is over-the-moon excited for Final Fantasy VII Remake.

You can find our own E3 awards right here, by the way. Whose choices do you most align with? What is a game you feel like deserved more recognition? Let us know below in the comments.
