This brief look at MLB The Show 19 may sell you on a new cologne more than the game itself. Our first look at this year’s game from Sony San Diego begins with a joke that ends up being a nice tribute to Bartolo Colón, a legend who continues to strike out hitters at the age of 45. He can also crush home runs, and make highlight reels for his glove. Colón is the first player we see featured in MLB The Show 19, and you gotta love it.
This teaser trailer also delivers information on what we can expect next in terms of timing. The game is slated to hit store shelves and PlayStation 4’s digital marketplace on March 26. Before that, Sony is releasing the official gameplay trailer on February 5. We’re hoping this messaging includes information on the steps Sony is taking to improve the online aspect of the game. Online play was a mess when it launched last year, and stability needs to be a key focus this year if Sony again intends to make it a destination for players.
