Video games and theme parks seem like an obvious, profitable combination made in heaven. Both Nintendo and Universal Studios have been aware of that notion for a while, with the two announcing a partnership back a couple of years ago for Nintendo-related installments at Universal Hollywood, Japan, and Orlando.

Today, Universal unveiled plans for a new theme park in Orlando called Epic Universe. Details about what’s in the park are scant but theme park aficionados are poring over every detail of the concept art that Orlando released alongside the announcement, which you can see below.
Rumors as to what this park might include span from properties such How To Train Your Dragon and more Harry Potter installations in addition to the Wizarding World already at the parks. However, prominent voices in the theme park industry are saying that a critical component of Epic Universes will be Nintendo.
VentureBeat says it even received snapshots of models and concept art that line up with the left section of the park. Obviously, this should all be taken with a grain of salt since neither Universal or Nintendo have confirmed Nintendo’s presence in this park but all the signs do suggest that we’ll likely be seeing Mario and friends bopping up and down certain parts of Orlando at some point in the future.
